Changing a Monitor's Resolution |
|
Changing a monitor's resolution is a very simple task. If you have any windows up, minimize them. Then on the desktop, click somewhere on the background with the RIGHT mouse button. A small menu will appear with PROPERTIES available.
Click on Properties and a window will appear with tabs on top with Desktop, Screen Saver, Appearance and Settings on each.
Click on SETTINGS and a group of settings are available to change the display properties of your screen.
SCREEN RESOLUTION is a slide bar at the bottom left that can be adjusted. Acceptable resolutions for most non-wide screen monitors are 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024 and 1600 x 1200. If your SCREEN within the monitor frame measures about 15" diagonally, thrn you probably want 1024 x 768(recommended) or 800 x 600. If your Screen is any larger, then use either 1280 x 1024 or 1600 x 1200, whichever is more comfortable on your eyes. Also, set the COLOR QUALITY to its highest setting available for that resolution setting. Once you are done, you may have to use the controls on the monitor itself to adjust to height and width of the visible space. All Done!! |
